LAZO & THE ZOUK ALL-STARS

Live in concert KASSAV’, the Legends of Zouk will start their summer concert season celebrating 30 years in music, on Friday July 24, 2009, 9pm at the Phoenix Concert Theatre, located at 410 Sherbourne Street Toronto. This Martinique and Guadeloupe based group is considered the Bob Marley of Zouk. As the major zouk events for the last two summers, this LIP Entertainment event marks the fulfillment of seminal promoter LIP's (Lance Ingleton Promotions) desire to make Kassav’, a solid staple of Toronto's zouk summer concert music diet. Kassav’ biography is available in English and French.

Juno Award Winner Lazo and the Zouk All-Stars, will be the support act on this show. This Toronto based zouk package has solid musical roots in Dominica and they brought the house down at last year's concert.   

LIP Entertainment is staying true to its established template of providing cutting edge talent and is well known for staging signature concerts of world renowned artists like Jimmy Cliff, Ziggy Marley, Gilberto Gil, Djavan and Milton Nascimento; Arrow, Billy Ocean and Los Van Van; Lucky Dube and Alpha Blondy, Youssou N’ Dour, Hugh Masekela, Fela Kuti, Baaba Maal and Thomas Mapfumo, B.
